Giving complete creative carte-blanche, our client had three main asks for the redevelopment of their new 3,000 sqft family home in London’s Hammersmith: reconfigure the main living areas for multifunctional family use, add an extra children’s bedroom and bathroom and transform the dark, small rooms into light-filled, statement open-plan spaces. The client’s ambition has been realised with a home that is truly unique in every aspect. The design aesthetics mix statement features with cool, contemporary sophistication and playful details.

Bespoke open plan kitchen with silver travertine cabinetry and brass finishes.

The new statement open-plan kitchen is the beating heart of the home. Bespoke features and finishes include a striking mosaic floor handcrafted in Italian Carrara marble, silver travertine kitchen cabinetry book matched to the marble and brass liquid metal finishes that add an extra dimension of light-reflecting warmth.

Maximising space and volume throughout the property, we designed a wider staircase accented by a single glazed handle from top to bottom and replaced all the original cornicing with shadow gaps to enhance the feeling of light and space. In the new family room, we designed and constructed an L-shaped architectural oak unit along the wall to create two distinct spaces for work and play.

Discreet features hide any evidence of a busy family lifestyle, including bespoke cabinetry in the hallways to provide extra storage and handwashed oak joinery in the master bedroom to conceal a door to the main bathroom.
